All books are now available without a subscription

This website contains a treasure trove of wonderful, educational, classic audio books. Unfortunately, technology has come a long way since my children and I built this site in 2009, and keeping it up to date is no longer feasible for me. We no longer charge for a subscription and have unblocked all the content so that it can be accessed without logging in. We have kept it running at our own expense, unwilling to let this library of sorts go the way of the dinosaur. Some links are broken but most of the content is still good. If the content is a Libravox book, I recommend streaming it through their app. There is an ad free version that is very inexpensive, as well as an ad-supported app, both available in the app store.

Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare

Summary: Written around the middle of his career, Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s great festive comedies. The men are back from the war, and everyone is ready for romance. The dashing young Claudio falls for Hero, the daughter of Leonato, governor of Messina, and his friend Don Pedro helps him secure her affection. These youthful lovers are contrasted with the more experienced (and more cynical) Benedick and Beatrice, who have to be tricked into falling in love. Don Pedro’s brother, Don John, provides the intrigue, and the dimwitted constable Dogberry provides the laughs. (Summary by Elizabeth Klett for Librivox)
